The Fading of a Bond

In first grade we met, and a bond was formed

Our friendship was strong, and it quickly transformed

Into something special, a bond that would last

But little did we know, it wouldn't hold fast

As the years went by, and we grew apart

Our friendship faded, and a new chapter would start

We lost interest, and common ground was hard to find

Our bond was broken, and left behind

But I'll always remember, the good times we had

The memories we made, will never be sad

Though our friendship has ended, and we've gone our separate ways

I'll always hold dear, the friendship of our grade school days
