The Student Struggle

Happiness and sadness, two sides of the same coin

I try to hold on to the happy, but the sad keeps creeping in

As I struggle to make ends meet, and study for my degree

It's a constant battle, between what I want and what I need

I work long hours, just to pay the rent

But it leaves little time for my studies, and time well spent

I try to stay positive, and focus on the good

But it's hard to find joy, when I'm working as I should

Life is a balance, between happiness and sorrow

But as a student, it's hard to find a way to borrow

From one to the other, and still come out ahead

I try to keep moving forward, but sometimes it feels like I'm dead

So I hold on to the happy, and try to let go of the sad

For tomorrow is a new day, and a chance to be glad

I'll keep fighting, and find my way through

For happiness and sadness, they both have a place in life's view
